'Go Sabres' song project to benefit Roswell Park Cancer Institute's 'Carly's Club'

Song: "Go Sabres!"
Written By: Frank MichaelsProduced & Recorded
By: Buffalo's Own: 'Sudden Urge'

To express their unwavering appreciation to the City of Buffalo's NHL Hockey Team, The 'Buffalo Sabres' ... Western New York Veteran Rock Band, 'Sudden Urge' has revamped and re-released a brand new rockin' version of their original song called 'Go Sabres', which pays homage to the team's successful journey through last season's exciting and hard fought playoff triumphs, as well as this season's tying of the all time NHL record for best start in any season (with 10 consecutive wins), and the team's ongoing success!

The song was originally written by Buffalo area songwriter Frank Michaels, who also happens to be the Band's 13 year Agent and Manager.

An idea to give back to the ground breaking Buffalo Based Cancer Research & Treatment Institute, Roswell Park, is being put into effect by Michaels' initial donation of the song itself…The Band's donation of their talents… And the initial corporate sponsorship of Buffalo's 'Actors Anonymous Theatre Company', (The Producers of the Off-Broadway Smash, 'Tony n' Tina's Wedding'! - who proudly donated all costs related to the production of this song).

The song has already enjoyed a great deal of airplay on Buffalo Radio Stations; 103.3The Edge, and 97Rock, as well as TV stations 2, 4, & even 2 separate features about the Band and this song on WKBW TV Channel 7, in the Western New York area! The most recent press was a Podcast Interview on 'AllWNYradio.com'. This 4 minute interview can be easily located by streaming it on: MySpace.com/SuddenUrgeMusic .

Proceeds acquired as a result of the song's success from area fundraisers and CD sales (now available in many area retail venues) will directly benefit The Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Greetings of the New Year from Stone Row!

We hope everyone has recovered from their own non-specific holiday festivites.

Stone Row will perform Saturday, January 13th at Shogun Restaurant, 7590 Transit Rd in Williamsville from 9PM-midnight. Yes....Shogun.

This is a great Japanese Restaurant located on the West side of Transit Road between Main And Sheridan somewhat near the old Hennessey's Pub. Hibatchi tables, sushi, sake, the whole bit. This place has excellent food and a really nice atmosphere and they are trying to augment their late night business by adding music on weekends. This is our first time at this venue so a good fan showing would be extremely helpful. They are discussing booking us there through the entire summer. Guinness and sake? Hmmmm.

Stone Row will also perform on Friday, January 26th at Ulrich's Tavern, 674 Ellicott Street in Buffalo. This is an early show from from 7-11 PM. Good German food.

More dates are on the Stone Row calendar at www.stonerow.com/calendar

Artpark Welcomes 2007 with Early Announcements

Discounts! Show featuring Music of Elton John & Tim Rice Headlines Theater Season! (Lewiston, NY) As Western New Yorkers turn their calendars over to 2007, the season’s Spring-like weather has led to an earlier-than-usual anticipation of summer. Today, Artpark assists in these midsummer musings with a preliminary announcement of the venue’s upcoming theater schedule, as well as the opportunity to purchase “early bird” discounted tickets to its blockbuster August musical production of Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA.

Onstage August 9-19, Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA is a modern theatrical take on Giuseppe Verdi’s enormously successful opera of the same name. A four-time Tony Award-winning pop-rock score masterfully brings to life the captivating musical tale of Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love. John and Rice’s brilliant adaptation, which marks the duo’s first collaboration since The Lion King, bursts with contemporary energy, elaborate staging, inventive choreography, multi-cultural casting and the critically-acclaimed soundtrack that also captured a 2000 Grammy Award for “Best Musical Show Album.”

A trio of ensembles will provide Artpark concertgoers with a trip down memory lane throughout the 2007 installment of the venue’s Big Band Series. The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra opens Artpark’s swing season on June 25 as conductor and original band member Buddy Morrow leads one of the world’s most-recognized dance bands thru the hits that made them famous, including “Embraceable You,” On the Sunny Side of the Street” and “I’ll Never Smile Again.” The schedule’s midway point (July 23) features Junction West, whose electrifying, 1970s-infused arrangements – including songs from K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Earth, Wind & Fire, Average White Band and more – secured their Buffalo Music Hall of Fame induction in 1998. The series concludes with the illustrious Glenn Miller Orchestra for a second straight year as renowned conductor/trombonist Larry O’Brien guides the “Greatest Band of the Greatest Generation” thru timeless Miller classics such as “Tuxedo Junction,” “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade” and many, many more on August 6. All Artpark Big Band concerts take place at 2pm and 8pm. As always, Artpark’s front-of-house giant dance floor will be available during each performance.

All tickets purchased prior to March 1 for Artpark’s production of Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA will receive 20% “early bird” discounts. Artpark also offers special group rates with the purchase of 20 or more tickets to any Mainstage Theater performance.

For more information, call the Artpark Box Office at (716) 754-4375, access the Artpark website at http://www.artpark.net/ or visit http://www.tickets.com/.
