3rd Annual BBQ Blues Bash

Music is Art

Music is Art is trying to spread the word on two events this weekend. We are kicking off our summer instrument drive in Niagara Falls on Friday, May 27th at the Old Falls St. Battle of the Bands for high school students. The Battle at the Falls starts at 8 p.m. and is a free, outdoor event. Music is Art will be there to collect instruments for local Niagara schools.

Music is Art will also be at Green Options Buffalo Community Bike Workshop on Sunday, May 29th to provide the day's soundtrack and collect instruments. The bike workshop is held at 98 Colvin Ave. in Buffalo from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Not officially Raven anymore, Tony Galla, Gary Mallaber and Jimmy Calire will reprise some of the Raven hits and bring back old memories for scores of Buffalo fans. All working musicians, these powerhouses were favorites of audiences and fellow musicians--with the band and on their own.

As seen here on Raven's former manager Marty Angelo's website, the band was endorsed by Jimi Hendrix - who got them a Manhattan booking - and the late George Harrison offered to produce them under Apple Records.

Walt Wilkins makes a rare return to Buffalo on Friday, June 17 at 9:30 to The Sportsmen's Tavern & Music Hall.

Along with his Texas super group, the plugged in, amped up, hippie-tonk Mystiqueros, Walt will be joined by his wife and national recoding artist Tina Mitchell - Wilkins. Her latest CD will be out this summer.
