KINGDOM BOUND CHRISTIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL SEEKS VOLUNTEERS

KINGDOM BOUND CHRISTIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
Buffalo, N.Y. (May 11, 2006) —Kingdom Bound Christian Music Festival, a four-day event to be held August 6-9, 2006, at Six Flags Darien Lake amusement park and camping resort in Darien Center, New York, halfway between Buffalo and Rochester, seeks 500 volunteers, ages 16 and older, from the U.S. and Canada for various positions involving security, transportation, ministry, ushering and other needs.

In general, Kingdom Bound volunteers are required to work about five hours per day. For each “volunteer shift” worked, they receive free admission (for that day only) to the festival. Volunteers can save up to $95 this way. If volunteers are staying on-grounds at Darien Lake, they’re asked to work all four days.

Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the festival, as well as parking fees, accommodations and food for the event. Kingdom Bound does not provide these items.

All applicants must be both physically and mentally capable of performing their position. In addition, they must submit an application, photo and pastoral reference letter. A parent’s signature is required for volunteers under 18. Volunteers will also be asked to complete special training either at a location near them, or by correspondence, depending on where they live and their past involvement with the festival. Training sessions in the Buffalo area take place June 13 at The Tabernacle in Orchard Park, June 17 at Amherst Baptist Church, and June 20 at Love Joy Gospel Church in Lancaster. A Rochester-area training session takes place June 21 at Bethel Christian Fellowship, while a Canadian training session is scheduled for June 10 at Ellis Avenue Bible Church in Hamilton, Ontario.

Now in its 20th year of existence, Kingdom Bound, one of North America’s largest and longest-running Christian music festivals, has grown to feature over 50 recording artists and 15 speakers from around the world, including appearances by MercyMe, Third Day, Newsboys, and Casting Crowns.

To apply to become a Kingdom Bound volunteer, download an application from www.kingdombound.org or call 716-633-1117 to have an application mailed to you. If you have any questions, email volunteers@kingdombound.org.. Applications will not be accepted after June 30, 2006.
