Buzz Records was founded in 2011 by Grammy-nominated producer, Anthony Casuccio and successful business partner and lawyer Steve Kantor: two successful yet ultimately very different individuals looking to provide the industry with a fresh, unique and much needed new approach. “We’re going to sign and nurture artists and bands who have a genuine, original sound,” says co-founder Steve Kantor. There are too many record labels out there that are trying to sign bands that fit the mold of pop culture and will produce one big hit before something “better” takes their place. Casuccio and Kantor are striving to change that idea.
The artists and bands that are signed under Buzz Records are not there for anyone to make a quick buck. The goal is for them to experience long-term growth, becoming better musicians, performers and fine tune their sound to fit their identity: not the molds.
In 2011 Buzz Records took its first step towards changing the industry by signing The Albrights, a pop-indie rock band based inWestern
New York . The Albrights’ debut album, “Ask, Tell.” was released in
May 2011.
Breckenwood, a power-pop rock band also fromWestern New
York , was signed in April 2012 and has proudly released their
first single, “Loser of the Year” on May 10, 2012 under Buzz Records. This
single along with an acoustic version can be found on the Buzz Records Online
Store as well as iTunes and Amazon.com.
The frst performers of the evening will be a lucky group of high schoolers whose youngest members are a mere fifteen years old. What is This or “WiT” has signed with Buzz Records to release a digital EP this month after gaining Casuccio and Kantor’s attention during their successful debut in the Music Is Art Battle of the Bands.
The showcase on May 30, 2012 is a chance for Buzz Records to prove that they are staying true to their values and present the talented musicians that they have been working with to the public.
