JAMESTOWN SAVINGS BANK ARENA HOSTS COLGATE COUNTRY SHOWDOWN

The Jamestown Savings Bank Arena and Jamestown’s Country music station, 101.9, WHUG, My Country, will host the New York State Finals of the 29th Annual Colgate Country Showdown, America’s largest country music talent search. The show will be held in the Arena Club; Saturday, October 16th doors open at 7pm, and show 8:00 p.m.

Jamestown’s WHUG, My Country, 101.9, local winner, Emily Arnold will compete with other New York State Final contestants representing radio stations 98.1theHawk of Binghamton, Y93.9 of Dansville, 99.5 of WOKN Elmira, Thunder102 of Liberty, Big Dog103.5 of Newark, Bee104.7 of Syracuse and KZ 102 of Wellsville for a prize of $1,000 and the opportunity to compete in one of five regional events. Regional winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the National Final in Nashville, TN to compete for $100,000 and the coveted title of “Best New Act in Country Music.”

Doug Yeomans and Lo Blue Flame will perform as the backup band. The judge’s panel includes Jillene Crause, Ed Smith, Matt Maloof and Sean Patrick McGraw!!!

“This is a proud addition to our lineup of arena events”, states Mike Ferguson, General Manager of the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena. “And everyone with a paid ticket will have the chance to win an authentic LeAnn Rimes autographed Gibson acoustical guitar. The guitar is currently on display in our Arena lobby.”
