The Niagara Fine Arts Program, Inc. proudly presents RENT
Niagara Falls, NY – The Niagara Fine Arts Program, Inc. (NFAP, Inc.) proudly presents RENT, directed by Maureen A. Pusateri. Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer-prize winning Broadway musical based loosely on Puccini's opera La Bohème follows a year in the lives of seven friends living the disappearing Bohemian lifestyle in New York's East Village. AIDS and both its physical and emotional complications pervade the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom, and Angel; Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner, Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble; Benjamin has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends; and Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general, always behind the camera recording the events but never playing a part.
RENT will be presented at 7:00 pm on Thursday August 12th, Friday August 13th, and Saturday August 14th in the Performing Arts Center of Niagara Falls High School, 4455 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, New York 14305.
The staff for this season’s production includes: Patrick M. Kuciewski – Executive Director, Maureen Pusateri – Director, Gracie Schupp - Choreographer, Tom Vitello.- Music Director, Rich Meranto - Production Design and Melissa Leventhal – Costume Design.
Actors featured in this NFAP production are Mark -Jimmy Moses; Roger - Nicholas Lama;Collins -Raphael Santos; Benny -Mike Zito; Angel -Tyrone Washington; Mimi - Maria Droz; Maureen -Jillian Shank and Joanne - Courtney Weather.
