The Hayseeds Debut in Buffalo, NY

Grab your corn cob pipe and head on down!

Rochester's urban rustic hick band, The Hayseeds, will hillbillify that haven of hedonism known as Allentown in their first Buffalo appearance at Nietzsche's, 248 Allen St., Buffalo, NY on May 21, 2009 from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Familiar with the phenomenon known as "Nietzsche's Time", The Hayseeds show will start on time.

These accomplished players eschew their amplifiers and strip down to acoustic basics. Americana, Roots, Bluegrass, Gospel, Blues, Cajun and foot-stomping good time C&W classics are delivered with a joy that is infectious and jubilant, transforming any venue into a family back-porch jamboree.

The love and excitement the Hayseeds bring to their show is contagious and riotous. Part hootenanny and part theater (complete with costume), they bring warmth and musical craftsmanship, belying their disarming and cheeky stage appeal. With ample winking and backwoods irony, they draw audiences who pull up a chair and stay because of the reverence and soul they breathe into forgotten standards, authentic originals and their unplugged rearrangements of modern tunes.

The Hayseeds will also be performing songs by local artists The Jazzabels and Alison Pipitone as a special nod to Buffalo's rich music scene.

With their lush arrangements, comic timing and vivacious, good time sound, the Hayseeds make quite an impression wherever they play.
