2009 Events for Ellicottville
Mardi Gras ~ March 14-15
A weekend of costumes, parades, music and good times in the Village and at Holiday Valley Resort. You won't want to miss one of the zaniest parades ever on Saturday March 14th at 6:30pm right down the main street of Ellicottville. Get your costumes and beads ready and enjoy great music and entertainment in the Village of Ellicottville and on the slopes of Holiday Valley Resort. Woman’s Weekend ~ June 19-21
To honor educate and celebrate women! Women's Weekend features an event filled two days for females only! Geared towards a healthy, happy lifestyle activities include: hiking, networking, yoga, kickboxing, women speakers, seminars, female comedians, spa treatment and much more! Some of the events on the schedule have a nominal charge. You may preregister at the Wingate by Wyndham Friday night at 7pm or just show up to the events that you would like to attend. Summer Festival of the Arts ~ July 3-5
In 2009, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra with a fabulous firework display will be performing on Saturday July 4th and a National Rock Act - to be announced - will be playing on Sunday July 5th on the slopes of Holiday Valley. Past acts include greats such as The Little Riverband, Starship, Loverboy and Pat Benatar. Rounding out the weekend is an Arts and Craft show from 10-5pm Saturday and Sunday on Jefferson Street, an annual pet parade at 11am on Washington Street on Saturday, and a rock climbing wall Saturday and Sunday. Golf Classic ~ July 21-22
This annual event will take place at Holiday Valley Resort. Your foursome fee of $1,200.00 includes a chairlift ride to top of the mountain on July 21 at 5:00pm. Upon arrival at the top you will enjoy a Wine and European Beer Tasting, Hors d'oeuvres, and great Entertainment. You will return to the bottom of the mountain for an Uptown BBQ and a Fantasy Casino Night at the Main Club House. On July 22 enjoy lunch, an outstanding welcome gift, on course hand rolled cigars and martini bar and entrance to all on course contests beginning with your tee off at 1:00pm. International Bowhunting Organization World Championships ~ August 12-15
The 2009 World Bowhunting Championships will be held at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville New York, August 12 to the 15, 2009. Ellicottville is located just 60 minutes south of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Holiday Valley is continually ranked as one of the best ski destinations in the East, and the Village of Ellicottville, located just a few steps from the resort, was rated in the top ten ski destinations. This event is sanctioned by the International Bowhunting Organization (www.IBO.net) and will bring thousands of qualified archers and their families from around the world to shoot for the world title and over $200,000 in cash and prizes! Vendor booths, practice and defense ranges open on August 12th with qualifying rounds starting on the 13th. The Holiday Valley Archery Festival will also be held the same dates for non-qualified shooters who would like to try out the world class ranges. This event is open to all archers. Admission is $40.00 and you must be pre-registered. This is a great event for everyone, even if you don't compete. Enjoy the trade show and watch the entrants compete for the titles, cash and prizes in many divisions. There is even a Future Bowhunter’s division for young children! Oldies Weekend ~ September 18-20
Hey cats, Hip yourselves to a Great Weekend of Finger-Poppin', Hip-Shakin' Oldies Entertainment in Ellicottville’s Cool Bars and Restaurants. Do the Stroll through 200 Antique and Custom Rods. There will be live music Friday and Saturday night in the village bars and restaurants and a classic car show from noon until 4pm and free live outdoor entertainment on Sunday September 20th. This Christmas wonderland begins on Friday, November 28th. The Village of Ellicottville, a Norman Rockwell painting in the making, will be the background for beautiful strolling choirs harmonizing all our favorite Christmas carols. The smell of roasted nuts, hot apple cider and the decorated windows in this historic 19th century village will bring back thoughts of a Christmas past. As the daylight comes to an end – a spectacle unlike any other will appear… a gift of lights as the village of Ellicottville comes to life in white Christmas lights. Throughout the event, activities will include Christmas carolers, reindeer, photos and breakfasts with Santa, hot-chocolate and roasting chestnuts, elegant horse-drawn carriage rides as well as Fire Truck rides with Santa and fireworks! Experience a very unique, old fashioned holiday season with the Christmas Stroll. Among the many events is Santa's arrival, and the day is concluded with a Living Nativity so authentic you'll be amazed.
