SUPERJAM 2008, Sunday June 1, 2008, 1-9PM
Creekside Grove, William & Union, Cheektowaga, NY
Superjam is the blues society of Western New York’s annual musical event and fundraiser showcasing local talent. The blues society of WNY is affiliated with the Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN and has been in existence for approximately sixteen years. Our purpose is to educate the public about the blues and its history, to promote blues music and to preserve it’s tradition as one of the truly great and original American art forms. Some of the ways we do this is by holding educational presentations in schools, holding a monthly amateur jam and by holding the Memphis bound contest which allows one local blues band a one solo/duo act to go to Memphis to compete on a national scale for various prizes including recording time, equipment and gigs at various blues festivals. Our quarterly magazine Bluesbeat, which was created by and is run by Rich and Sharon Schneider, is one of the most comprehensive and professional magazines of it’s kind. This year’s event features the Mark Winsick Band, JJ Moscato & Blue Avenue, Willie Haddath & Sue Kincaid Band, Cruizin Deuces, Eloise Laguerre, Jack Civaletto, Stevie B & the Rhythm Rockers, Gregg Juke Band & the Mighty No Stars, Big Tobacco,
Donna Rose & Jimmy Wozniak, Paul Ianello & Lissy K, Todd Eberwine Band, Lynn Fredericks and Shaky Ray.
Double Take Blues Band, and John Rose. Superjam is a family event and there is food and alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages available to purchase. The event is rain or shine. The admission fee for an all day pass is $12 for blues society members and $15 for non members. Visit our website for more information at http://www.wnyblues.org/
