CD Release Party for Mike Criscione's new CD "Balance"

A CD release party will be held for Mike Criscione's new CD "Balance" on December 1st at 8:30PM. The event will take place at The Central Park Grill which is located at 2519 Main St. in Buffalo NY (836-9466). There will be a $4 cover charge at the door. Opening the show will be Rob Falgiano. Closing the event will be The Scott Helfrich Project.

"Two-time winner of "Best Original Guitarist" at the Buffalo Music Awards, Mike Criscione's tenure as a musician has taken him through a number of angular phases. In his unlikely evolution from progressive rock guitarist, to singer/songwriter, to the live looping artist, right angle turns have been the norm. No stranger to the Buffalo music scene, Criscione cut his teeth playing with a variety of western New York rock bands most notably the critically acclaimed Riley, winner of 1998's "Best Original Rock Band" at the Buffalo Music Awards. From 2000 until 2004, he was a regular fixture in the solo acoustic circuit, often employing live looping of multiple instruments.

His current recording, BALANCE, features Criscione performing on over ten different instruments. Completely self-recorded, mixed, and mastered in his newly designed project studio, this, his first solo release, was recorded over a two and half year period. It's title is in reference to the rather unorthodox manner in which the record was completed. The overwhelming majority of the time spent on this project was between 5:30am and 7:00am, early enough in the day to not interfere with his family and day job. The tracks on BALANCE cover an impressive array of styles interwoven within an acoustic/rock foundation. Not only do they resonate with the full spectrum of modern instrumentation, but also (at times) complete orchestral scores and world percussion."
