Bank of America Presents ‘Rock for Food 2006’ & Scott Celani CD Release Party to Benefit Food Bank
Some of Western New York’s top music acts will be gathering together for an evening of live original music to help the hungry in anticipation of the Holiday season. In its 5th year of existence, “Bank of America Presents: Rock for Food 2006” will be held on Saturday, November 11th at Club Infinity on 8166 Main Street in Williamsville. The event is a benefit for The Food Bank of Western New York.
The event will feature the best in regional music on 2 stages. Headlining the night will be Buffalo-based singer-songwriter Scott Celani and his band. This year’s event will also be a celebration of the release of Celani’s 4th CD – “Wired for Nostalgia”. Prominent local artists also on this year’s bill include Last Conservative, Steve Roth, Last Days of Radio, Hooks & Halos, Marty Nightengale, Dee Adams, The Rev and Rich Militello.
“Bank of America Presents: Rock for Food 2006” is both a fundraiser and a food drive. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring out non-perishable food items in support of the Food Bank, and 100% of the proceeds from the event as well as the food will be donated to the Food Bank.
“This is now our 5th year, and we always strive to build on what we did the year before,” says Celani, the event’s founder. “Last year was really special, and we hope this year will be even better. I’m releasing a new album that I’m extremely proud of, and everyone who walks through the door will get a copy. The ticket price is still very reasonable, and that is due to our generous sponsors, who are a true testament to the spirit of this community. The sponsors allow us to cover all production and promotion expenses so that 100% of the ticket proceeds go to The Food Bank, as well as the food donations.”
The Food Bank is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to obtain food and support from public and private sources and efficiently redistributes these resources to affiliated charitable providers such as soup kitchens, pantries and shelters.
"We are extremely grateful to have a show of this magnitude benefiting the Food Bank and its member agencies that feed our hungry neighbors," said Clem Eckert, Executive Director of the Food Bank of WNY.
“Bank of America Presents: Rock for Food 2006” begins promptly at 8:00pm on Friday, November 11th, with doors opening at 7:00pm. Tickets are just $8 in advance, $10 at the door and are available through Tickets.com, all Tops Friendly Markets locations and at The Club Infinity box office. All ages will be admitted.
