TWO AREA CHURCHES JOIN FORCES TO KICK OFF LANCASTER’S INDEPENDENCE DAYS WITH PATRIOTIC SERVICE

Lancaster, N.Y. (June 22, 2006) — CenterPointe Community Church and The Vine Wesleyan Church are two young, non-traditional churches reaching out to the community at Lancaster’s Independence Days, a three-day celebration of American patriotism, military personnel, and freedom. The two churches, both relatively new to Western New York, will join together to host a Patriotic Service kicking off Lancaster’s Independence Days on Sunday, July 2nd, at 11:30am on the NYSEG Mainstage, located on Central Avenue in downtown Lancaster. Patriotic music will be prominently featured, and all are welcome at this event.

“CenterPointe and The Vine are both family-friendly, people-focused, culturally relevant churches,” says Pastor Michael Nieves, of CenterPointe Community Church, which normally meets in rented space at the nearby Lancaster Elks Lodge. “At our Patriotic Service, we will honor God and country and recognize military personnel and veterans.”

There will be giveaways, as well as a gift for military personnel and veterans in attendance. Other area churches have been invited to the Patriotic Service. William Cansdale, Jr., the Mayor of Lancaster, is scheduled to make opening remarks.

For more information, please call the Lancaster Village Special Events line at 716-683-7026 or CenterPointe Community Church at 716-310-3873 or The Vine, which meets at the Court St. School, at 716-683-0570.
