CLARENCE HOLLOW ASSOCIATION'S 2ND ANNUAL HOLLOWFEST
CLARENCE, NY
(JUNE 24, 2014) – The Clarence Hollow Association, a non-profit organization, is
presenting a family-friendly 4th-of-July Fair dubbed "HollowFest."
The three-day event will take place July 3, 4, and 5 at the Clarence Town Park, 10405 Main Street, in Clarence, New York 14031. The hours are 5 pm until 11 PM on July 3rd, and 11 AM until 11PM July 4th and 5th. Everyone is invited and there is no charge to to get into the event. Thousands from across the region are expected to attend.
Many local groups and organizations will volunteer their time and resources to help bring the fair to the entire Western New York community. Monies raised will be used by the Hollow Association to beautify the Hollow and reinforce their mission statement of promoting, improving and maintaining the historic Hollow for all to enjoy!
HollowFest will offer fun for the whole family including fun activities and games for children plus a slew of full-blown professional amusement rides from Hammerl Amusements, a Clarence-based family owned business for over fifty years.
The fair will also feature mouth watering delectables from several local award-winning eateries including Gianni Mazia's, the Hollow Bistro & Brew, and the newly renovated Cornerstone Bar & Grill. In addition there will be plenty of crowd pleasing carnival-style foods. Special offerings from many other local non-food vendors and groups will be available for purchase and perusal.
One of the biggest draws of the fair will be live music each night from 7 PM to 11 PM, featuring two of the areas most talented and sought-after bands. Organizers of HollowFest were pleased to secure ROUTE 66 for July 3rd and HIT-N-RUN for July 4th and 5th. A beer tent for adults 21 and up, plus and a gambling tent for those 18 and older will be situated close to the live entertainment.
Two helicopter-landing demos are planned during the festival, weather permitting. "If you have ever seen a helicopter land before you know how exciting it is! It's very loud and very windy! And kids just love it!" stated one happy fair-goer after last year's landing by the Erie County Sherif's Department.
Unique to this year's event will be a spectacular display of fireworks on the 4th, beginning at dusk. It is a culmination of the Association's campaign called Help Us Light Up The Sky on the 4th of July!
"We almost didn't have any fireworks this year until thankfully, some businesses and private citizens stepped up and donated close to $10,000 to help us out. It took a real community effort to pull this off and we could not be more grateful!" stated Jean O'Connell, president of the Hollow Association.
