DAVE SCHULZ CELEBRATES HIS SOLO DEBUT RELEASE CONNECT WITH HOMETOWN FANS IN BUFFALO, NY ON SEPTEMBER 12

The Multi-talented Artist Brings His High Energy And Powerful Vocals
Home For Two Performances

Charismatic singer, songwriter and keyboardist Dave Schulz (www.daveschulzmusic.com) will head to his hometown in Buffalo, NY to celebrate the release of his solo debut album Connect with two amazing performances on September 12. First, he will head to the Albright Knox Art Gallery at 3 p.m. for a performance spot in Robby Takac’s Music is Art Festival. Following his performance, Dave will take the stage at Pearl Street Grill & Brewery with his new L.A. based band for the hometown edition CD release show at 10 p.m. Joining him will be fellow 2008 Buffalo Music Hall Of Fame inductees Gretchen Schulz (and the Morvels), and brother Robert Schulz. Dave will also be reuniting Buffalo funk legends C.O. JONES for an after party set!

The instantly infectious 10 track collection also features extremely well connected players Schulz has admired for years, including Daniel Lanois (U2, Bob Dylan), bassists Tony Levin (King Crimson, Seal), Mike Porcaro (Toto), vocalist Bernard Fowler (Rolling Stones), Robin DiMaggio (Paul Simon, David Bowie), and Randy Cooke (Ringo Starr, Dave Stewart).

For the past decade, Dave has been a touring/recording vocalist and keyboardist for superstars including Goo Goo Dolls, Bo Diddley, General Public, English Beat, Fuel, Berlin, and The Rembrandts to name a few. His talents have also earned him accolades including a win for Best Keyboardist of the Year (2006 All Access Music Awards) and a nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year (2005 Los Angeles Music Awards). He also received a 2009 "Honorable Mention" for both the 16th Annual Billboard World Song and 12th Annual Unisong International Songwriting Competitions for the song "Everything." This summer, Dave made an appearance on FOX's Strategy Room for a live performance and to discuss latest topics related to the entertainment industry. Dave has a current spotlight on Playboy.com and an upcoming feature in Keyboard Magazine.

Forest Lawn to Commemorate Women's Equality Day

Buffalo, New York: To commemorate Women's Equality Day, Forest Lawn Cemetery will host a celebration Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 6:00 P.M., 89th anniversary of the 1920 passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution that gave women the right to vote.

Cemetery gates will close for regularly scheduled activities at 6:00 PM, and will welcome the public for a series of celebratory events in front of Rosewood Mausoleum. Ceremonies begin at 6:15 PM with the Dedication of a Garden of Gratitude, gift of Mary Ellen Lowe-Tompkins, followed by a special performance of O'Connell & Company's award winning, DIVA by DIVA, A Celebration of Women! with songs, readings, poetry, humor and quotes by, for and about women.

The spectacular garden with thousands of perennial plantings is marked by a plaque that reads: "A Garden of Gratitude: for all who came before and all who will follow... given by Mary Ellen Lowe-Tompkins, wife of John Wendell Tompkins... 'Loved in Life... Never Forgotten'." As opposed to the selection of a traditional burial location, the garden is a pre-need gift for all to enjoy that has been planted by members of the Boy Scouts of America. It represents the type of imaginative thinking exemplified by women responsible for obtaining the right to vote, as well as by the divas represented in the cabaret-style performance.

DIVA by DIVA, A Celebration of Women! is enjoying its tenth Anniversary Year, and is Western New York's longest running production. This special DIVA by DIVA... performance celebrates some of the most famous women interred in Forest Lawn.

Chairs will be provided, and the performance area can be found by following the yellow lines painted on the road from Forest Lawn's Delaware/Delavan gate to the Mausoleum area. Tickets are $25 per person at the front desk of Forest Lawn Cemetery, or by calling 885-1600. Tickets are also on line at www.forest-lawn.com or www.brownpapertickets.com/event/76419.

Forest Lawn will follow the events of Women's Equality Day with an all-new Famous Women of Forest Lawn Tour on Sunday, September 27 as a part of its 13th year of Sunday in the Cemetery Tours. Based on extensive research by Ted Dibble and Pat Kavanaugh, costumed actresses will appear throughout the cemetery to recount stories of their lives. Tour tickets are available for the same price from the same ticket outlets.

Forest Lawn Cemetery was founded in 1849 and is listed on both State and National Registers of Historic Places. It is the home of outstanding examples of funerary art, is one of the largest arboretums in the state, and is the final resting place for a President of the United States as well as veterans from more than 8 wars.
