Artpark’s 2006 Season Takes A Final JoyRyde!
Artpark Season, Series Wraps Up with JoyRyde & the Hitmen Horns!

(Lewiston, NY) Artpark’s 2006 Season takes one final spin as JoyRyde and the Hitmen Horns conclude the venue’s newest concert series – and the park’s incredible summer schedule – on August 30, beginning at 6:30pm. The inaugural season of “Artpark Wednesdays,” which was created to showcase the best musicians in Western New York and Southern Ontario, was sponsored by HSBC Bank and HSBC Mortgage Corporation.

Twenty year veterans of the Buffalo music scene, JoyRyde will be accompanied by the always-amazing Hitmen Horns for over two hours of music that includes timeless recreations from Aretha Franklin, the Doobie Brothers, Huey Lewis and the News, The Temptations as well as some original tunes.

JoyRyde has clearly demonstrated the criteria for being considered as one of the top acts in the region, having captured an unprecedented five Buffalo Music Awards for “Best Top 40 Band” and receiving induction into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2004. In addition, group members have won several individual Buffalo Music Awards including founder Michael Lacki who is a “Best Keyboard” award-winner, lead singer Johnna Scime who has been nominated 12 times (and won five) for “Best Top 40 Vocalist,” Buffalo Music Hall of Fame guitarist Dick Bauerle, “Best Drummer” winner Al Hury and “Best Bass Player” nominee Dennis Parry. The band also appeared on national television when the QVC Shopping Network’s “50/50 Tour” came to Buffalo in 1997 and performed as an opening act for Artpark’s “Tuesday in the Park” series in 2004.

The three-piece Hitmen Horns, which originated in 1982, include Bob Meier on trombone, trumpet player Paul Wos and saxophonist Al Monti.
